Sateen
Sateen lining is made from 100% cotton and produced in a way that gives it is well known sheen finish. It is a lightweight material composed of one layer of fabric and so hangs well as both curtains and roman blinds.
Our standard sateen lining is of very high quality and available in White, Ivory and Cream.
The best color to chose depends on personal preference but it is important to match the main fabric with the lining, for example with a lightweight White fabric a Cream sateen lining may not be the best choice.
Thermal
A great choice for keeping your house warm during the colder months, and as studies have suggested up to 35% of a houses heat is lost through its windows, maybe a simple way to save on your heating bills.
Thermal linings work due to their multi-layer construction and specialist material finish.
These linings are made from a blend of Polyester and Cotton as well as a special thin foam layer, that work together to give the fabric its thermal properties.
Our standard Thermal lining is a light cream in color and so works well with light and dark fabrics.
Blackout
With countless studies showing how we don’t get enough sleep in modern life we are always keen to recommend blackout lining for our customers when it comes to curtains and blinds for bedrooms.
Although getting perfect dark room blackout is not on top of everyone’s list simply adding Blackout lining to your bedroom curtains can make a bigger difference than you would think.
With the heaviest construction of the linings discussed, blackout is composed of 3 separate layers of fabric and termed “3 Pass Blackout”. The multiple layers of material work to block almost all light from passing through the material and can give a blackout affect in bright sunlight with the proper window treatments.
Our blackout lining is available in Light Cream as standard but for larger orders specialist linings are available on request.
