Lining Guides

Linings are an integral part of the functionality of your curtains or blinds.

We use only the highest quality linings from respected UK suppliers, each lining is selected for both its draping qualities and performance.

Deciding which lining is best for your made to measure curtain or blind can be daunting, rest assured our handy guide will allow you to make an informed decision.

Blackout

Our blackout lining is designed to hang beautifully while still providing that essential light blocking factor.

Best used in bedrooms where its signature 3 pass coating offers complete light exclusion, great for lay ins! Studies show having blackout curtains or blinds can aid in better and more restful sleep. Aside from allowing weekend lay ins, blackout lining works to protect your curtains from the sun. This is especially important with more delicate natural fabrics such as linen and silk. Our standard blackout is a light ivory in colour with white available on request.

Thermal

Our thermal lining is great for adding extra insulation to your home. Its specialised coating helps regulate temperature both in the summer and winter. It also aids with noise reduction and adds some light exclusion to your space. Our premium quality thermal lining not only helps with draughty windows, but it also hangs superbly. For an even greater boost to insulation thermal curtain lining can be paired with one of our interlinings, keeping you extra snug in those cold winter months.

Our thermal lining is a warm cream in colour.

Sateen

Our premium sateen is fantastic when the special properties of blackout or thermal aren't required. Simple and elegant with a soft luxurious handle and crease-resistant weave. Designed to improve the drape and structure of your curtains or roman blind. Available in crisp white, elegant ivory or a warm, buttery cream to act as a perfect complement to your chosen curtain fabric.

Interlining

Interlining is an additional layer of fleece like material that sits in between the face fabric and your lining. Its benefits are twofold, firstly it creates a thicker barrier increasing the curtains insulation properties. Secondly, it also adds extra body and fullness to your curtains, creating a stylish, plush look. Heavyweight interlining is a thick dense cotton fleece which adds significant body and weight to your curtains. The lightweight option is only slightly thinner but as a spun polyester fleece it is much lighter and less dense.

Lightweight Heavyweight

Bonded Blackout and Bonded Sateen

Bonded linings are specially designed for use with roman blinds, available in luxury ivory sateen or blackout with an extra layer of fleecy interlining fused to it. These linings add extra body and thickness to your made to measure roman blind, giving a plush look whilst aiding with insulation. They are specifically designed to avoid interfering with the smooth operation of the blind.
